Biography:
Ven. Oluwafemi Olaniyi Popoola was born into the family of Late Ven & Mrs M. F. Popoola close to five decades ago in Ila Orangun. He started his primary School education at C.A.C Demonstration Primary School, Efon Alaye in Ekiti between 1982-1988. His secondary school education was at Community Grammar School Iluomoba Ekiti from 1989-1994. He worked as a church agent and sexton in the year 1994 - 1996 before he gained admission to Immanuel College of Theology Ibadan in September 1996 to June 1999. He had his Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies at University of Ibadan between year 2000-2003.
After his theological education at Immanuel College of Theology, Ibadan, he was posted to Ibadan South Diocese in July 1999 and became the first Chaplain to the late Rt. Rev'd Jacob Ademola Ajetunmobi in which he resumed to Ibadan South Diocese as chaplain on the day of inauguration of Ibadan South Diocese on 13th July, 1999.
He was ordained as Deacon on 27th June 1999 and priested on 18th June 2000. He was installed Canon June 2005 and collated as Archdeacon in July 2009. Ven O. O. Popoola served as both Bishop's Chaplain as well as Cathedral Chaplain between the years 1999-2003. He served as the Registrar of the lay school of Theology in Ibadan South Diocese in the year 2004-2008. Ven O. O. Popoola got married to his wife, Mrs Margaret Bolanle Popoola in August 2nd 2003. The Union is blessed with three talented and God fearing children.
He served as priest in the following churches:
1. St. Paul's Anglican Church, Sanyo: August 2003 - June 2005 as Vicar
2. Canon Residentiary of the Cathedral Church of St David, Kudeti, Ibadan: July 2005 - July 2009
3. Christ Anglican Church, Mapo: August 2009 - January 2011 as Assisting Priest
4. St. Luke's Anglican Church, Molete, Ibadan: January 2011 - January 2015 as Vicar
5. Canon Residentiary of the Cathedral Church of St David, Kudeti, Ibadan: January 2, 2015 - September 4, 2024
He is presently the Vicar of Christ Anglican Church, Odinjo, Ibadan.
