Brief Info:
St. John's Anglican Church, Oke-Ola Aborerin, Eruwa, Oyo State, Nigeria, was established on July 21, 1968. Founded by members of the Eruwa Youth Movement, the church aimed to encourage civil servants posted to the Ibarapa division to spend weekends locally. In the same year, other denominations were also established, including the Catholic, Seventh-Day Adventist, and Ahmadiyya faiths. In June 1968, a request was sent to the Anglican Bishop of Ibadan, Rt. Revd Olufosoye, who responded by sending representatives, including Very Rev. Adetiloye, Canon S.A. Banjo, and Mr. Williams, to meet the Eruwa Youth Movement and the Eleruwa of Eruwa, Oba Solomon Olaribikusi. The Eleruwa provided land in Oke-Ola Aborerin for the church, which was joyfully released by Chief Adekunle Jeremiah and family. Late Emmanuel Oladele Odusina, the church's first lay reader, received the land on behalf of the church.
