The Second Session of the Ninth Synod of the Diocese of Ibadan South (Anglican Communion) is scheduled to hold from Friday, 30th May to Sunday, 1st June 2025, at St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Agric, Olomi, Ibadan. This important gathering will bring together the Bishop, clergy, laity, and synod delegates across the diocese for a time of worship, reflection, deliberation, and planning for the future of the Church.
The Synod will convene under the theme:
“Assurance of Goodness and Mercy”
(Psalm 23:6a)
This timely theme invites the Church to anchor its faith in the unwavering promises of God’s kindness and faithfulness, even in uncertain times. It calls the faithful to reflect on the spiritual blessings of divine presence, provision, and purpose.
The session will feature:
• Holy Eucharist and opening procession
•The Bishop’s Charge, setting the tone for diocesan direction and vision
• Bible studies and devotions for spiritual edification
• Committee meetings and presentations, evaluating the state of the diocese
• Deliberations on key issues, and resolutions to guide the Church's mission and ministry
• Thanksgiving service, closing the Synod with praise and renewed commitment
This Synod is expected to be a time of renewal, encouragement, and strategic advancement for the Diocese as it continues to grow in faith, unity, and impact. All preparations are being prayerfully undertaken, and delegates are encouraged to attend with hearts ready to receive and contribute.
